Drepano is located in the south east of Argolida in the Peloponnese. It is a peaceful seaside village which combines the endless green colour of the citrus trees and the deep blue colour of the sea in the beautiful beach of Plaka. The hillsides are full of plants, camomile, cyclamens, asparagus, oregano and thyme. The climate is mild and the main product of the area is citrus fruits. The inhabitants are very hospitable mainly occupied with farming and fishing.
Drepano is well-known for its traditional taverns located in the centre of the village which serve typical Greek food. In the centre you can also find everything you need for your daily shopping (grocery stores, butcheries, bakeries and food markets).
Plaka Beach is one of the best and cleanest in the area. You can do water sports or just lie on the beach and enjoy your drink or coffee. You can also have your lunch or dinner in one of the fish taverns right on the beach.
Drepano overall is not a big tourist resort, it is a characteristic picturesque Greek village. Beautifully situated, waits for you to spend your holidays and feel the hospitality of the inhabitants in a village that is not yet influenced from major tourist development, but still keeps its charm which will attract you from the first minute of your visit
Drepano is near Nafplio (9 Km), a beautiful town (which is the capital of Argolida and the first capital of Greece) with two Venetian castles, one up the hill (Palamidi) and one as a small island in the sea (Bourtzi). The old town of Nafplio has been preserved so you can enjoy your walk in it through the old houses and the small traditional shops. There are also many museums that worth a visit.
The most famous historical monuments of the area are situated nearby. The ancient theatre of Epidaurus (30km) where at summer time you can enjoy classical ancient plays (drama festival), the archaeological site Mycenae (30km), the Cyclopian Walls of Tirynth (15km) and of course from here you can explore the rest of Peloponnese and Athens.
